Bay Area Plumbing Service is an informational website. We publish free plumbing guides for Bay Area homeowners. We are not a plumbing contractor and we do not offer plumbing services through this site. This policy explains what little information we collect when you visit, and what choices you have.
1. Who we are
Bay Area Plumbing Service
An educational website in the ADRIUM family of sites.
Email: [email protected]
2. What we collect
This is a read-only educational site. We don’t ask you to fill out forms, create an account, or hand over personal details to read our guides. The only information that changes hands is the small amount any website receives automatically when you visit.
- Google Analytics 4: anonymized page-view data, device type, and approximate location (city-level). We use this to see which guides are useful and how to improve them.
- Server logs: your IP address and request timestamp are recorded by our hosting provider (Cloudflare), retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
- Cookies: used by Google Analytics. You can opt out via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
If you email us, we’ll have whatever you choose to put in that email. We use it only to reply.
3. How we use information
- To understand which guides are read and how to improve them (aggregate analytics only).
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
- To reply to you if you email us.
4. Who we share with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only third parties involved are the infrastructure providers above (Google Analytics and Cloudflare), and only in the limited ways already described. We may disclose information if required by valid subpoena, court order, or applicable law.
5. How long we keep it
- Analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics default).
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Emails you send us: kept only as long as needed to handle your message.
6. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you.
- Request a copy of it.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal data (we don’t do either).
- Be free from retaliation for exercising any of the rights above.
To exercise these rights, email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We’ll respond within 45 days.
7. Children’s privacy
This is a general-audience educational site. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
8. Security
The site runs over HTTPS. We use unique passwords and two-factor authentication on the accounts that run it. No system is perfectly secure. If you spot something that looks wrong, email us.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
10. Contact
